ISO 14409:2011 Ships and Marine Technology-Ship Launching Air Bags

The international standard, ISO 14409:2011 Ships and Marine Technology-Ship Launching Air Bags was released in September 2011. The development of this standard was led by China and participated by America, South Korea, England and Japan. The technology of ship launching air bag is developed by China. It gradually becomes the first choice of small and medium shipbuilding companies to launch their ships due to its advantages of time-saving, flexibility, cost effectiveness, high reliability etc. ISO 14409:2011 specifies the terms and definitions, classification, materials and dimensions, test items and methods for air bags to be used for launching a vessel. It also specifies issues such as marking, documentation, packaging, transport, storage and so on. ISO 14409:2011 is intended for designing, manufacturing, testing and accepting air bags that are made of synthetic-tire-cord reinforcement layers.
